“FROM RESEARCHER TO FILMMAKER : The Creative Journey”

Miss. Geeta Dash is a filmmaker, columnist, creative researcher and a motivational speaker who believes in serving society in her own unique ways. She has been awarded several times for not only academics but also for her works. Being a topper throughout and a gold medalist, to getting prestigious awards in film festivals like Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival and Golden Camera Awards; she has been able to set up higher benchmarks for herself by bagging the PMO’S Media Fellowship for South Asian countries for the year 2022-23 as well as many National and International Fellowships. She has also worked for NGOs in environment and health sectors.

Her journey, ‘starting from a researcher to a filmmaker’ has inspired many. Her parents have been her main strength and motivation.

An accident in her life made her choose a career about which she had never dreamt. She had to opt out from her research career to which she had given most important years of her life and swim through an unknown river, against the flow and set up a special place for her in film making.

She feels that life is just one and it has to be lived purposefully, not only for self but also for creating positive impact around us. She aims to make meaningful films in near future and encourage more and more women to join the creative sector.
